The book club has been in operation since September 2007. The book club commences at 2.15 pm- 3.15 pm every Tuesday afternoon. The book club acts a forum for pupils to enhance their literacy skills i.e. reading, spelling, comprehension and grammar. The Learning Support Co-ordinator and the Learning Support Assistant provides one to one literacy support during this time. Specific reading books and comprehension tasks will be set according to each individual pupils needs. The aim of the book club is to give pupils more confidence in the area of reading and writing and they can in turn bring this knowledge to each and every subject area. The book club is an extra curricular school club and allows for pupil discussion and question and answer sessions. The classroom assistants and sixth year prefects also assist with pupils reading during club time.

From September 2009 we have been able to extend the support at the 'Book Club' to include homework support. As well as access to computers there are other resource books to help with homework.
