Welcome to Year 11 and 12 in St Genevieve’s We want our pupils to succeed and offer a broad and balanced curriculum catering for a wide range of interests and abilities. Our staff are highly motivated and provide for the development of the whole pupil – emotional, spiritual and intellectual - in a positive and nurturing environment. All pupils follow recognised courses in the following subjects Religious Education (GCSE or Certificate) English (GCSE) Maths(GCSE) Learning for Life and Work(GCSE) Some students will also study English Literature (GCSE) after discussion with their English teacher. All pupils choose a further four subjects from the following: Business Studies
Certificate of Business Enterprise ICT(Double Award) Art Drama French Geography History Home Economics Home Economics Child Development Irish Moving Image Arts Occupational Studies – Care – Digital Technology - Hospitality PE (GCSE) Music Science - Core Science - Additional Technology and Design Travel and Tourism Word Processing All pupils also participate in non-exam PE and Careers classes. Personal Development is catered for through a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer – Retreats, Alcohol Awareness programme, Loving for Life programme, sport, drama and musical activities. Each pupil is offered a mock interview in Year 11 conducted by local business people and all Year 12 pupils benefit from a week’s Work Experience. Our Year 11 and 12 pupils particpate in producing a newsletter for their Year group. They have the opportunity to write articles for them.
