Deborah Hill - Deputy Head Girl KS5

Hi! My name is Debra Hill and I have been appointed the Deputy Head Girl for KS5 this year. I am currently studying Drama, Religion and Sociology A2 Level which are all individually challenging but rewarding.

I am very much in to acting and drama and my aim is to pursue a career in the Performing Arts Industry. I hope to finish the school year with the grades that I have set for myself and move on to get a BA Honours Degree in Acting which will involve going to drama school. I have had my future planned from a young age but attending school has made me aware that I need to keep my options open therefore need to focus on passing my examinations so I have a wide choice of options for university.
 
I know this year for many students is all about exams and it can be very stressful but having just done exams myself and in the middle of more, I understand the pressure of balancing school, friends and your own activities. I have learnt, however,  that if you put the time and effort into your work now, it all will be so satisfying in the long run.

St. Genevieve’s offers a wide range of programmes and activities that help you get involved in the school community which will be significant to have when it comes to writing CVs etc and they present you with the skills and qualities needed to enter the working world.

I listen well and I am a very approachable person so if you have any problems at all, I am available to talk any time or you can approach either of our two Head Girls, Niamh or Grace, or any of the other three Deputy Head Girls, Kerry, Siobhan or Tania. As a student myself, my advice to everyone would be to stay calm, relax and begin this school year with a clear mind and the focus to give a million percent to your work and study. This year I plan to fulfil my duties and responsibilities to the best of my ability and ensure that the pupils feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the year, and I will also enjoy representing the school.

I wish you all happiness and success and now with my time at St. Genevieve’s coming to an end, I have reflected upon my years here and value them truly. I appreciate this role given deeply and look forward to the upcoming year.
